In this four-week course, students build their photography skills through advanced portraiture, studio lighting, low-light techniques, creative special effects, and visual storytelling inspired by photojournalism. Students should be comfortable with the techniques covered in the Basic and Intermediate courses before registering. An SLR-style film or digital camera with interchangeable lenses is recommended, and a tripod will be required for some lessons. Point-and-shoot cameras and cell phones may not offer the range of manual settings needed to complete the course assignments.
